Euro steady after ECB holds rates; Trichet awaited

The euro, Bunds and European shares were little moved on Thursday after the European Central Bank left rates on hold as expected. The ECB left its benchmark refinancing rate unchanged at a record low 1.0 percent for the eleventh month running.

Investors were awaiting ECB president Jean-Claude Trichet's accompanying press conference at 1230 GMT. The central bank is expected to flesh out new lending rules to ease the financial squeeze on Greece. >>
